CEO of Aker BP Karl Johnny Hersvik will be one of the keynote speakers at Energy:Connected on May 19th. Hersvik believes that a zero-emission society is a historic opportunity for the industry.
– It will require an unparalleled restructuring and there are several ways to the goal, therefore a meeting place such as Energy:Connected is important for sharing perspectives, says Hersvik.
Hersvik will be talking about the topic “Disruptive Digital Innovation in the Oil and Gas Industry: The need for change has never been greater” on the opening day of the conference.
Contributing to secure and reliable energy
– The oil and gas industry is facing digital disruption. This is a huge opportunity that will contribute to a secure and reliable energy supply with low emissions and costs for several decades to come, says Hersvik and adds:
– At the same time, digitalization will provide an opportunity for increased value creation. This is capital that can be invested in, among other things, renewable energy, and contribute to the energy transition.
When asked what he looks forward to at the conference, he says that it will be interesting and useful to get perspectives on the different challenges we are facing and to share Aker BP’s thoughts on the matter.
– One of Aker BP’s values is to be an applicant. We attend this type of conference on a regular basis, even though there has now been a break during the pandemic. We find it useful to share our thoughts on, among other things, our role in the energy transition.
